University Web Committee

The Colorado State University Web Committee functions as an advisory group to the Division of Public Affairs and the Department of Web Communications. The committee has representatives from more than 20 divisions, units, colleges, schools and departments.

  • The committee considers matters related the development of University Web sites as an effective means for communicating with key constituencies.
  • The committee also reviews the development and application of policies and standards for University Web sites in areas such as design and the application of graphic standards, usability and editorial style guidelines, and accessibility.
  • Upon request, the committee makes recommendations to IAC on matters such as information security, privacy, and commercial activity.
  • The committee may seek input and counsel from various sources including web and technology managers, members of related committees, and interested and qualified individuals.
  • The committee may constitute ad hoc committees with specific charges and timelines as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Committee members proactively encourage the units they represent (schools, departments, and centers) to apply the university web standards, principles and guidelines in order to maintain accurate, timely, and effective sites that conform to accessibility, usability, security, and privacy guidelines.
